How To Fix Yellow Hair At Home

In this simple guide, you'll discover exactly how to fix yellow hair at home. If your hair is freshly bleached and looking like a highlighter, or your blonde has gone dull and yellow - this is for you.

PURPLE + YELLOW = BRASS FREE BLONDE

I'm sure you know this, but let's go over it just incase. You need to use a purple based product to get rid of those yellow tones you're seeing. If you remember back to seeing a colour wheel at school, purple and yellow are opposites. When we mix those together, they cancel eachother out!

PURPLE SHAMPOO DID NOTHING?

If you're like me, you've probably tried quite a few products from the supermarket to fix your yellow hair - only to be frustrated and disappointed when you wash them out and see that they did basically nothing. Purple shampoo just made your hair feel dry and left it exactly the same colour.
I want you to think of purple shampoo as the powder you put on top of your foundation to keep it looking great. So you've done your your makeup, it looks amazing, and then throughout the day you're putting that powder on to make sure it stays amazing. That powder isn't giving you the base colour, it's keeping the base looking great. That's what purple shampoo does for you hair.

YOU NEED THE WELLA COLOUR CHARM TONERS

So if purple shampoo didn't work, what do you need? This is where the Wella Colour Charm Toners come in! These toners are super powerful. They will get rid of all of the yellow in your blonde. ALL of it. I say that with absoulte confidence.
But the best part? Not only will they get rid of all the yellow, but they'll add in the exact tones you're looking for to give you the blonde shade you're dreaming of.

WHY THESE TONERS WORK WHEN OTHERS DIDN'T

The Wella Colour Charm Toners work, when all of those other products you tried didn't, because they are super pigmented, designed for this exact purpose - and are mixed with 20 Vol Developer. When we mix the toner with 20 Vol Developer, it allows the forumla to lighten the hair slightly while it tones. The result? Bright, yellow free hair.

EXACTLY WHICH TONER TO PICK

Here are my top three picks for you:

Wella Colour Charm - T18 Lightest Ash Blonde
Pick this shade if you're looking for a really clean, light, ash blonde. If you're not sure, go with this one. It's my best seller!

Wella Colour Charm - T11 Lightest Beige Blonde
This shade is for you if you're looking for a very light, creamy blonde without any yellow tones.

Wella Colour Charm - T28 Natural Blonde
Pick this shade if you're looking for something that isn't too ashy and gives that perfect sunkissed, child-like natural blonde

Sandra – I recommend two bottles for hair that’s very thick and longer than your shoulders.
    I hope that helps!

I use the T14 after colouring as I have some natural red hair throughout which turns copper when lightened. I’ve tried so many “toner” products over the years until I come across Wella Colour Charm and it is without a doubt THE best toner I have ever used. The extensive range of Shades available provide something to suit all challenges, in my case red/copper, AND it actually does what it claims to do. Don’t waste your time, effort and money on anything else. 10/10 right here

This is practical and helpful advice Sarah. The ‘toner’ world is a mystery and you have lifted the veil! Thank you Simone
